Newman Swoops For Striker Salter

Salter has had two trial periods at Roots Hall, he first arrived durig the summer, but despite scoring in the pre-season friendly at Burnham Ramblers, Newman didn't feel that he had a home at United.

However, as the frontman has already netted eight times this season for the Screwfix Western League side including a brace against Bridport - added to his 38 strikes last season - Newman called Salter back to Roots Hall and he impressed in last weeks 2-1 reserve team victory over Brentford, even setting up the first goal for Damon Searle.

Salter's other Clubs include Stoke Sub Hamden and a Yeovil Select XI and he arrives at Roots Hall on a free transfer intially until the end of the season.
