Newman Signs For Gorleston

The ex-Blues manager has signed a one-year deal with the Norfolk non-league outfit having not renewed his short term deal with Chelmsford City, for whom he signed for at the tail end of last season.

Newman was sacked by the Shrimpers in March and made his first appearance for his new side, ironically, in their 4-3 home defeat against Chelmsford on Saturday afternoon.

We do, of course, wish Rob, who is 40 in December, all the best for the coming season.
