Writer Keith Roe has produced a 324-page book looking at the history of Southend United through the eyes of the local press, most notably the old Southend Standard. All profits from this volume go to the Southend Hospital Special Care Unit, an area that the football club have also been at great pains to support.
The book, called ‘Press On’ uses full match reports and articles on the Blues which have been reproduced from the Southend Standard as well as other local newspapers. It is split into the follow sections, after an introduction that includes full first team results from 1906 to 2005:
