Morrison: 'The referee buckled under the pressure'

Sadly, the Roots Hall faithful will not be seeing Sean Morrison make his debut in Friday's game under the lights at Roots Hall v MK Dons.

However, showing all the confidence of youth, the promising 18-year-old central defender on loan from Swindon for a month, is certain he'll be impressing in a Shrimpers shirt soon enough.

Speaking to the www.southendunited.co.uk Sean said: "I thought it would be good for me to come here and get some games and that's still the case. Before coming to the club I spoke to Alex Revell, who is on loan from Southend at Swindon, and he told me it would do me good to come here. He said playing alongside someone like Adam Barrett would be beneficial for me because he's a good defender and very experienced."

As for the sending off, he continues to believe it was a harsh decision as Captain Adam was covering and the Yeovil striker Obika 'went down far too easily'.

Sean continued: "The ref told me four times that it was going to be a booking but then got out a red card. I think he buckled under the pressure their players put on him and if the game had been played at Southend I really don't think I would have been sent off."
