Mohsni: Scored for Southend

Mohsni: 'Brilliant if we get to the third round and play Manchester United or Chelsea'

Bilel Mohsni loves the FA Cup and getting through the next two stages, starting with taking on Preston North End in tonights first round replay at Roots Hall, would mean a possible big club, a live TV appearance, and his mates back in Paris being able to cheer him on!

Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk“I would always watch the FA Cup games on TV when I was a kid. They were shown quite a lot and I always it being really good when one of the smaller clubs got to play one of the big teams in the Premier League. It would be brilliant if that could be Southend this season and we can get to the third round and play Manchester United or Chelsea. The youngsters now watching the games on television in France like I used to do could then watch me play. But there’s a long way to go before we can think about anything like that and Preston will be a hard game because they’re from a higher league.”

Stalemate at Deepdale ten days ago is the reason for the game taking place but for Bilel, who has played everywhere this season outside the goalkeepers spot, still time, just wants to be in the starting line-up, wherever Blues boss Paul Sturrock puts him!

Mohsni said: “I don’t know what position I will be in. I still see myself mainly as a centre-back but I’m happy to play wherever the manager wants me to. If I play in defence I want to stop the other team scoring, in midfield I want to make goals and as striker I want to score them. They’re all different but I like them and just want to play somewhere.”

Extra-time and penalties will make sure there is a winner on the night with that side facing Oldham Athletic at home on Saturday, December 4th; kick-off 15.00.
