Ron Martin - has decided to

Martin: 'I know it wouldn't affect me not getting paid if I was a player

Win the next three games and survive by a point on the final day, at Southampton!

Possibily not, as we're seven points from safety; and Uncle Ron agrees, so as the players play for pride, we can pay a little bit less, for the joys of watching Bradford, Boston, and Accrington Stanley next season.

Chairman Ron told www.southendunited.co.uk: "We realise this season has not lived up to anybody's expectations and these new arrangements are in recognition of the loyalty of our fans. This reduction in ticket prices will not as a consequance reduce the level of planned investment in the squad."

That's the investment in the squad that was promised in the last two seasons then; look forward to it Ron, as I'm sure Tilly is.

This is on all on top of his interview with BBC Essex confirming he wants to offer the present Blues boss a new contract and the players have been paid on time.

Martin said: "These are not lowly-paid players, they've always been paid and they've always known that the money would be coming. Whilst they may not have had precise dates, there's always been assurance that they would be paid and no-one would be let down. I know it wouldn't affect me if I was a player, I think you have to consider all that we've been doing to keep this club alive."

The more he comes out with the more surreal it actually all gets.
