MacDonald finally signs for Brentford

Brentford FC boss Andy Scott has finally clinched the signing of Blues striker Charlie MacDonald this morning.

The 27-year-old former Ebbsfleet hitman became Scott's eight summer signing in a deal reported to be around £50,000 - but which will be remain undisclosed by the two clubs.

Brentford insist the fee is not not as high as £50k, and the final figure will be based around goals and apperances.

Scott had two previous offers turned down for MacDonald before the Blues excepted a third bid, and the player put pen-to-paper earlier today.

MacDonald could make his Bees' debut in Friday night's friendly with Ipswich Town.

So farewell to another player, who was never one of the 'A' team, but I'm sure will do well at League Two level. Those who saw his 5 goals in the three cup ties and a cold December afternoon in Doncaster, a header of all things, will say the ability was there, however on his rare first team appearances he always looked a touch behind the pace. While scoring a brace in the cup replay against a poor Oxford side he did also miss a hatful. A step down and a good run will do wonders for his confidence if his new teamamates set him up.

Good Luck Charlie, you'll get a good pint of Fullers at your new surroundings.
