Macca Survives An Hour

Blues reserve team coach, Dean Austin, speaking to www.southendunited.co.uk, confirmed their was no reaction to the knee injury that has kept McCormack out of Steve Tilsons' plans for over six weeks: "Macca was back to his usual self which was nice to see. He did really well, we decided to give him a bit longer in the second half but as he was feeling good we didn't want to risk it too much."

Stuart Fleetwood gave Charlton the lead, Jamie Forshaw equalising for the Blues, but Jonjo Shelvey made sure the South Londoners went into half time with a 2-1 lead.

It only took five minutes of the second period for Francis Laurent to make sure all Macca's hard work wasn't wasted, an honourable draw then.

The question is though, will Tilly now place the Dubliner on the bench for Friday?

Just think who you would like to see warming up with twenty minutes on the clock and a narrow lead to be held, Sankofa or Macca?
