Macca: 'Neither Bailey or I will be pulling out of any 50/50 challenges'

Macca's not having the best of seasons but he never gives less than 100% and knows that ex-Blues player of the year Nicky Bailey, now Charlton skipper, will do exactly the same.

And there still mates after the legendary head butt incident of Birkenhead April 08. Macca on the receiving end after they both blamed each other for the Tranmere winning goal, even sharing a lift home after the game.

No doubting their passion then, should make for an interesting clash in the middle of the park.

Macca told the Echo: "I still keep in contact with Bails so it will be an interesting game. We will be talking lots on the pitch and our friendship will be going out of the window for 90 minutes. We both want to win for our teams and neither of us will be pulling out of any 50/50 challenges, put it that way."

One thing that has been lacking this season is goals from McCormack, something that has not been bothering Bailey.

The Dublin born player continued: "If you're not careful he gets on the blind-side of you and then finds space in the penalty area. He's one of the best I've seen at this level and above at doing it and he times his runs very well. He scores lots of goals and will be a threat on Saturday, but they have a lot of good players."

Though accepting it was a penalty that gave Norwich a third at Roots Hall on Tuesday, he knows another lapse as the 10 minutes that gave the Canaries two goals earlier in the match, will prove terminal against the Addicks.

Macca concluded: "We can't afford to do that against these top teams but if we stay mid-table then I think we will have done well when you consider that we have such a small squad."
