Macca: 'John Stannard has been stretching me out and I seem fine now.'

With the size of our squad there's concern when any Southend player leaves the pitch for any injury, but when it's Macca, and he's clutching his hamstring, those concerns double.

However, don't panic! It's not a muscle issue, it's a nerve in his back!

The player himself is confident that everything will be OK for him to be involved in the game against 100% Leeds at the Hall Friday night.

Macca told the official site: "I came off against Leyton Orient as a precaution because if it had been a muscle problem and I popped it then we could have been looking at six weeks out. But I trained to-day and didn't feel any niggles so I'll get a bit more treatment now and then I should be fine for the Leeds match."
