Loan Window reopens but Tilson to wait

Steve Tilson is unlikely to bring in anyone before the Tranmere game even though the window for temporary signings re-opens this week.

Speaking to the Southend Evening Echo Tilly said: "We have a couple back fit now so we will see what happens. If the right one comes up and the move is viable then of course we will have a look at it. At the moment there is nothing lined up though and we will deal with the Tranmere game first and then go from there.

One of the few good stories to come out of the last week is that players have had more time to get over injuries and striker Francis Laurent is certainly on the mend from his fractured ankle which should see him return to this weekend's squad.

It also helped that the Swindon match was called off early enough to save team and supporters alike from travelling too far up the M4.

With poor weather forecast for the rest of the week in some parts of the UK, more snow is to follow the continuous rain Monday evening, Tilly will be hoping the South-East escapes the worst. (Southend could even see sunny intervals by Friday!)

He continued: "The weather conditions have been a bit of a nightmare for us just lately. It hasn't just been about the games because its affected training too and hopefully that's the end of it now because the lads are just desperate to get playing again. We won our last game against Bristol Rovers and were looking to build on that so to have these two postponements has been very frustrating and disappointing."
