Liam looks north: 'Preston are leaking goals for fun at the moment'

Dickinson: Southend can go up

Dickinson: 'Knew about the bad dress sense & things like that down here but it’s been going well'

Shrimpers striker Liam Dickinson could do with a goal as he's seen Ryan Hall overtake him in the club's golden boot race to be second on six along with, er, centre-back Mark Phillips, who doesn't even believe Liam's four penalties should count!

However, as he's travelling north of Watford this Saturday to take on Preston North End in the first round of the FA Cup, the Salford born lad should have some mates to cheer him on.

Dickinson told www.southendunited-mad.co.uk: “With the game being near to where I’m from I’ll have plenty of friends and family there and it would be great to get a goal. They have to drive three and half hours from where they live to get to Roots Hall so it’s a bit easier for them to get to the games that are in the north. I’m looking forward to it and Preston are leaking goals for fun at the moment as well so hopefully we can create a few chances.”

Liam has mainly spent his career up north but some time with the Seagulls seemed to have given him a weird opinion on the southern fashion scene, obviously needs a Friday night up Talk to show him how the Essex boys turn out!

Dicko said:"I’m liking it here and I had a year at Brighton before so it’s living in the south isn’t completely new to me. I already knew about the bad dress sense and things like that down here but it’s been going well.”
