Let's Stick Together Pleads Tilly

"Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, it's going to be allright."

Speaking to the official club website Tilly acknowledged the concerns sections of the Roots Hall faithfull have been raising over the close season. However he has called on all Shrimpers to unite with his squad as he believes we'll start seeing events move in a more positive fashion over the next few days.

"We haven't got a big squad but if we can make some more signings things will start to look more positive." he said.

The next quote was more interesting as for the first time on record Tilly said would many of us had felt, that with the economic downturn and the sheer scale and financial need of Fosetts Farm his hands have been tied in making the sort of deals some supporters would have liked.

"We are going to have a small squad; things are going to be a little tight with the new stadium on the horizon. But the chairman to his credit is trying to take the Football Club forwards and a brand new stadium is going to do that."

He goes on to confirm that Uncle Ron is the man for the job.

"Fair play to Ron for that because he is taking a massive thing on to move forwards and he is the first one to have got remotely close to doing it. This is a big incentive for everyone to get behind him and the team".

Blimey, I think I'm going to cry, after I stop applauding.

Top marks to Tilly, who has now made two bold statements in a matter of days, more than he's made over the last five years!

First he rightly has a go at the squad for a poor display at Braintree, something I do not believe he has ever done in that way, and gets the response we were all looking for last night, and now this. Honesty and loyalty, you will never make a politician Tills!

In all seriousness this is what we at TLG have been looking for and with the sun still shining we can face the world as Blue supporters with a renewed sense of optimism. Tilly and Brush have done it before and I know they will do it again.

'In T&B we trust' is not just a headline.
