The Latics were held to a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall last weekend and like their Southend counterparts are dreaming of the possibilty of a third round tie against Premiership legends Liverpool at Anfield, gotta beat us first though lads.
Midfielder Adeyemi said: "It was a real lift when we saw that game. Part of me wished we could have just held on at Southend but it wasn't to be. What an incentive for us if we can win the game. We're going to be treating it like a cup final because the opportunity to go to Anfield is one that we can't let slip."
While wideboy Parker added: "When I saw that draw it was a mad one. I was at home in London shouting to my Mum about who it was. Obviously we've got to beat Southend first. I think we were unfortunate not to beat them but as the gaffer said, at least we're still in the hat. Once we get them here hopefully we can turn them over. We'll see what happens."
