James Hazell: Has decided a future away from Roots Hall is a safer option
The new manager at Blue Square Bet South club Braintree T own Rod Stringer, has been busy making several signings to strengthen his squad for the new season and has picked up Southend youth striker Justin Hazell.
Eighteen-year old Hazell has been with the Shrimpers since the beginning of the decade working his way up through the various age groups, and made his first team debut against AFC Telford United in the FA Cup in 2008.
He has declined the offer of a further year's contract at Roots Hall and subsequently signed for the Iron.
Stringer told www.braintreetownfc.org.uk: "Justin has done well at Southend and I know that they were keen for him to stay for another year. He has decided he wants to work outside of football, but still play at a good level and I'm delighted to be able to bring him to the club."
Keeley Hazell: No relation, but also knows how to find the back of the net
