Joyce looks forward to making debut against the Railwaymen

The boy yank is ready and willing to help Blues to a second succesive victory as the Shrimpers prepare for the trip to Crewe at the weekend.

With Mildenhall out for a month some Shrimpers believed Tilly might look at bringing in experienced cover for his young goalkeeping rookies. However, and rightly TLG believes, it looks as if Ian Joyce will get his chance, he was brought in as No. 2 so lets see what he's made of.

Speaking to www.southendunited.co.uk Joyce said."I am looking forward to the weekend now. Tuesday was a good opportunity to get 90 minutes under my belt. A lot of these reserve matches come few and far between so it was a good chance to get in a game before Saturday to prepare me."

Though obviously disappointed at Big Steve's untimely injury the former Watford shot stopper will relish the chance to strutt his stuff against his
opposite number, the former Blues keeper Steve Collis, while helping the Blues to another three points.

"Unfortunately Steve will be out for a little while so I am looking forward to getting in the team and doing a job. When the time comes and you are called upon you have to step up and relish the opportunity. Hopefully we can get a run going now starting up at Crewe and get some results. The three points against Hereford was just the start of a good run we are going to get on. Now we have to keep the ball rolling."

And say so all of us.

Well, he talks a good game, in three days time he will surely get the chance to play it.
