Kelvin Jack; covering for Joyce while the boy Yank decides on his future
Blues are currently without their usual reserve shot-stopper Ian Joyce who is on a seven-day trial with an American side, and that means Jack, who has won 33 international caps for Trinidad and Tobago, could well be named on the bench.
Jack left Gillingham in 2008 and has spent most of this season training with the Shrimpers to keep fit.
However, S24 has no been told this is unlikely to happen, certainly for Tranmere. Whether this has anything to do with our present financial condition we can only hope not.
Blues boss Steve Tilson would certainly not confirm to www.southendunited.co.uk that Jack was the man: "If Mildenhall gets injured then we will get someone on loan. Joycey wants to get home and it's a good chance for him."
And Tilly has shown faith in Under-18 keeper Daniel Bentley in the past, yet with Big Steve clutching his side once again in the Colchester game Monday, more experienced cover on the bench would not be a bad idea.
