Herd: 'I'm pleased that my contract has been extended'

The Shrimpers left back Johnny Herd is one player, outside picking up an injury, that Tilly can rely on when the League action returns on August 7 and should be in the starting line up.

Certainly, while taking the chance to model the new kits being introduced for the upcoming season, Johnny, and those throws we love so much, expects to be there.

Johnny spoke to to www.southendunited.co.uk: "It's going to be a good season for us and hopefully, I can get a full season under my belt. I think that will help me and I'm pleased that my contract has been extended at the club for another year."

Oh Johnny, you're be playing mate, as long as Tilly's fancy for Wolves left backs doesn't continue, then again we can't pay them so I think he's safe.

In all seriousness great to hear something positive coming out of Roots Hall and he's right, this will be a big season for him, and the club.

As for those shirts, Johnny continued: "I really like both shirts, the away kit is different this season and the home kit has the same outline as the Brazil shirt, so I'm impressed."

To take a look a the shirts as worn by Johnny and Stuart O'Keefe, (the home kit on sale from the Club Shop on Friday June 25th, the away one Friday July 30th), go here:
