Easton: Shrimpers have to remain positive
Captain Craig will not start against the Railwaymen Tuesday evening

Well, it's confirmed. Midfielder Craig Easton and left-back Peter Gilbert are both out injured for the Tuesday evening League Two match with Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road.

In a must win game for the Shrimpers if they are to have any real hope of fighting for a play-off position come the end of the season this is a huge blow to such a small squad.

With no sign of the promised loan signings Blues boss Paul Sturrock will have to decide on his starting line-up and get on the phone to borrow one or two of the youth team to sit on the subs bench!

Miguel Comminges didn't look at ease in Gilbert's full-back slot in the 2-1 defeat at Lincoln when he came on, and it would be good if Johnny Herd got another chance, however, Luggy just doesn't seem to rate him, and if the former Swindon utility player doesn't get the nod, how does he get game time with reserve matches so few and far between?

As for Captain Craig, that's a touch easier, as Lee Sawyer and Anthony Grant looked a good force going forward together in the middle of the park and it should work well with Kane Ferdinand patrolling the area in front of the back four behind them.

Of course if there's any more injuries or a suspension, and Hereford at Roots Hall is only three days after the Railwaymen, we are truly in shit street as we enter the last week of Luggy bringing any one in before May.
