Awaiting confirmation that Johnny Herd is out for a further three weeks

With the suspected news that full back Johnny Herd will be out for up to another three week with his dodgy hamstring Blues boss Steve Tilson has confirmed that Francis Laurent could be joining him.

In a couple of days we'll find out how long Francis Laurent could be out for!

The exciting French striker limped off in the 77th minute of Tuesday evening's 2-0 defeat at Prenton Park to Tranmere Rovers.

Tilly told www.southendunited.co.uk: "Francis Laurent is another one we've got out injured now. He's hurt his hamstring, but we won't know how bad it is until another two or three days."

They do both have a week off now along with the rest of the squad as it's the second round of the F.A. Cup this Saturday.

Next Blues game; Tuesday December Ist v Norwich at Roots Hall, kick-off 19.45.

However, we might be seeing a bit more of James Walker than we have lately.
