Grant: Late equaliser for Southend

Thanks to Preston Snoop Dog can play against the Pirates

With all the news that defenders Peter Gilbert and Mark Phillips are struggling to both be fit for Saturday afternoon's League Two clash with Bristol Rovers at Roots Hall, Gilbert missed training Thursday, it could be forgotten that one of Luggy's options is available for selection, that is the midfielder Anthony Grant.

Having been originally down to miss this one after his red card against Oxford in the JPT on the 8th of November brought with it a three-match suspension that included the weekend clash with the Pirates, the goalless draw with North End a couple of weeeks ago leading to last Tuesday's replay win allows Granty to take to the field.

However, it's more than likely that the former Chelsea youth will be sitting on the bench as Sturrock will not disrupt a side too much that has won all the games in his absence, and that Grant was not a regular in his starting line-up before his sending off anyway.
