Derbies back against Colchester United and Leyton Orient, maybe one of the Sheffield clubs, Nottingham Forest; the list goes on, promotion back to the League One is a season-end goal that is getting closer by the week, so to watch these games at Roots Hall for around £15 a shot would be a welcome offer indeed.

But to give the money to the club by the middle of March?

The offer is being made two months earlier than last year, more wages to be found?

The Shrimpers are offering existing and new season card holders the chance to pick up a 2012/13 Season Card at current fourth tier prices, but you have to hand over your hard earned by Sunday, March 11th to beat any future price increases, which you can be assured is in the pipeline if we do eventually go up, even though we are already at the high end of the market.

The present cost of an adult season card is £350, whilst a Junior season card is £105 and Under-8's £40.

The club are also cutting renewais by £20 in some price categories and, as they point out, this would make an adult card £70 less than when we were last in the third tier for the 2009/10 season.

A children's season card in the Family Enclosure are once again available free of charge when accompanied by a full paying adult.

Blues boss Paul Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "It's been a really great season so far. Everyone is confident that we can finish it off and get promotion this season. That is the aim. By buying a season card before the deadline you can take advantage of saving some money if we are promoted by getting your season card at league Two prices. The support we have received this season has been excellent and hopefully even more of our fans will take advantage of the deal."

The offer is available from 09.30 on Wednesday, February 1st until Sunday, March 11th.

After this date any seats that have not been renewed will be avaialble for the seat swap period for those fans that wish to switch to another seat. The seat swap will take place between March 12th and 16th.

Not sure about the fairness of that.

If I decide to hold on, due to financial reasons or whatever, someone can nick my seat after several seasons? Look into that!

Supporters can once again utilise their Direct Debit instalment plan and the application form along with full information about the deal can be picked up here: www.southendunited.co.uk

Application packs will be landing on your desk any day soon!
