Friend: 'Bristol Rovers is a game we're all looking forward to'

Friend scored with a cracking 25-yard free-kick to equalise the Saints controversial 6th minute opener but a Lallana brace gave Southampton a 3-1 winninmg lead.

George told the Echo: "We gave away some sloppy goals and that's something we need to eradicate from our game. We've done it a few times recently and it's cost us because when we got back to 1-1 we looked good and I think both the players and our fans really felt we could go on to win the game."

The whole team will now focus on Saturday's League One match with Bristol Rovers at Roots Hall.

The defender on loan from Wolves continued: "We can't wait for the game now. I love the Friday night games at Roots Hall because the atmosphere is great but if you lose then it does seem like a long time until you get to play again. It's a shame we aren't playing again on Tuesday because when you lose you want to play again as soon as you can. But we've had a lot of games recently so maybe a free week will do us good and hopefully we can bounce back against Bristol Rovers, which is a game we're all looking forward to now."
