Freedman receives call to the Palace

Out of the frying pan Dougie? Still, frees up some wages for Uncle Ron!

Afetr a number of injuries over the last two seasons the brain might have been in working order, his couple of paces back to head the ball home at Walsall was classic forward play, but the legs sadly weren't.

Dougie Freedman will be announced as the assistant to new Crystal Palace manager Paul Hart Tuesday afternoon. He will be joined by John Pemberton who has been appointed first-team coach.

Dougie is a legend at Selhurst Park, scoring the goal at Stockport which kept them up in 2001, but will now try and somehow keep the club in the Championship after they were deducted ten points for going into administration.

Hart, Freedman and Pemberton have all agreed contracts until the end of the season, replacing Neil Warnock, who has gone to QPR on a three & a half year deal.

Crystal Palace have announced a press conference to confirm the new management team for 16.30.

It's great that his last act in a Blue shirt was laying on the ball for Matt Paterson to get his first goal for Southend at the Franchise.

One great striker laying on the ball to a young player who hopefully may become his equal.
