Francis: 'I really didn't think the second one was a penalty'

It's nearly been a year since Simon Francis last grabbed a goal for the Blues, Tuesday November 18th to be exact, against AFC Telford in the cup replay at Roots Hall, but when you end up on the losing side, which he didn't that night, it's hard to get too overjoyed.

Francis spoke to the Echo: "It was nice to get a goal again but it's not the same when you lose. They came back at us with two penalties in the second half and it's disappointing because the ref didn't have the best of games. He seemed to be giving them everything and, although the first one maybe was a penalty, I really didn't think the second one was."

Simon knows now that after two defeats on the trot the team have to get something from the visit to Edgley Park this weekend.

He continued: "Maybe if we had battled a bit harder though we would have taken something out of the game and it's hard to take losing like that. It was great to give us the lead but we're disappointed again and need a result now at Stockport on Saturday."
