Former Boss Swoops for Leon

Cort: Gone
Cort's proposed move to the Kingston Communications Stadium has been on the grapevine for a while, but the tall defender, who once scored a hat-trick for United against Boston United, has finally made the switch to the East Riding.

It's a shame for Southend supporters to lose Leon in such a way as last season was probably the poorest so far for the 24-year old who promised so much in his first two Southend campaigns.

However, Blues boss Peter Taylor doesn't have far to look for a replacement with Andy Edwards having re-joined United a month ago.

Cort told the Official Southend United website - www.southendunited.co.uk - "Peter Taylor made me a very generous offer and you cannot ignore things like that".
