Updated news for the Essex derby this Saturday

Crewe get you down, let's paint Colchester yellow!

Colchester United have reported that they have sold over 7,500 tickets at lunchtime Wednesday for this weekends derby clash. That's three quarters full, could it be a complete sell out! However, if planning to drive in, you'll have to park your car away from the stadium!

Sales approaching 7,500 of the 10,000 capacity Weston Homes Community Stadium have been sold according to the Farmers official site.

Also, all 600 permits for the U's stadium car park have now sold out so if you haven't got one but have a ticket for the game, you will have to make alternative parking arrangements.

There is an extensive residents only parking scheme in operation around the stadium, so you may need to journey to over a mile away before you can find a legitimate parking space, so best to find a space in town and make use of the free shuttle bus service from near North Station.

Time for a pint in the Norfolk first! (Maps and full info see below.)
Or you could catch the train, though there is a coach service from Billericay to the mainline station, £17.30 for a off-peak day return

Seating in the West Stand

Shock, horror! They'll be some real people sitting in the stands, hope they can cope!

Show offs, we didn't run around Chelmsford with the Essex Senior Cup

Finally, before the match and at half time the Essex cricket team will be parading two trophies.

The Friends Provident Trophy that they proudly won at Lords last August, on the day Blues were drawing with Millwall, where they defeated Kent, along with the NatWest Pro 40 Division Two championship.

They will also be giving opportunities to have your photograph taken with the trophy as well as picking up players autographs outside the stadium before the game.

The sheer volume of spectators has got the Farmers very excited, let's hope they can cope, they've already sold out three of five home areas.
