Estonia's Stepanov goes on trail

Last updated : 04 July 2009 By S24news

The 30-year-old centre-half has won more than 70 caps for his country and appeared once for Watford last season.

Blues boss Steve Tilson told the Echo: "Andrei was recommended to us by an agent and we will be having a look at him in training. He's played at a decent level and has experience at international level and we obviously need a defender so it makes sense to bring him in. The plan is for him to play in a few of our pre-season games and then we will go from there and make a decision."

Stepanov has played club football in Estonia with FC TVMK Tallinn and Lelle SK and then joined Russian teams Torpedo Moscow and FC Khimki.
