First, loanee Nathaniel Jarvis comes in from Cardiff but has yet to start a game.
Then Matt Paterson bagged a brace against Barnet in the JPT Tuesday evening and Blues boss Paul Sturrock was full of praise.
Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "His performances had been indifferent to his talent and I was thinking that it may be best to send him out on loan. I've changed my mind now though but I actually did before the game. If he keeps on working hard he will get further chances and he certainly took his goals well against Barnet."
However, it hasn't stopped Luggy signing Doncaster striker Waide Fairhurst on an initial month's loan.
That will cheer Matt up!
The 21-year-old Yorkshireman will put pen to paper on Thursday and will go into the squad against Chesterfield at the weekend.
Fairhurst has made 12 first-team appearances for Rovers, but has not been part of Sean O'Driscoll's plans at the Keepmoat this season, making just two appearances.
In October 2009, Fairhurst signed for Shrewsbury Town on a one-month loan deal. He equalised for Shrewsbury Town on his debut against Aldershot.
Later his loan contract was extended until early January 2010, but after picking up a foot injury the Shrews decided not to extend the deal any further.
