Boli has been on the boil in his two appearances for the Blues Two's
He's young, exciting, and French, but we can forgive him that, and he's just shaken the Graham Coughlan led Shrimpers seconds out of their cul-de-sac of three successive defeats and up the road of two wins on the trot, helped by the odd first team squad member to be fair, but even so.....
We do have a full set of forwards when everyone's fit and not suspended but as our last defeat showed at Swindon, and bless them both, Harry Crawford and Blair Sturrock up front together will not lead us out of this division, and I'm certain Luggy is well aware of that.
Both Liam Dickinson and Bilel Mohsni have a bit of a temper, though the former Stockport striker has been quiet lately, maybe too much on the pitch, and the French Tunisian defender come goal scorer seems to be taking his anger out in the boxing ring, no harm in that, except for the poor sod in with him.
Bomber Harris is no spring chicken, and could be subject to the odd knock, however, it must be noted one spell out apart the guy is looking good for 34.
Now of course winning a couple of penalties and scoring against Stevenage and Colchester reserves does not make a must sign player, he's missed a few as well, but he's got pace and knows his way to goal, once the ex-Paris Saint Germain striker gets to know his team mates better gets, I for one wouldn't mind him sitting on the bench ready to scare the life out of some unsuspecting opposition.
The trouble seemed to be that legendary Echo source was telling us that it was 'unlikely' he would sign for us, but after the 4-2 win over ColU reserves Tuesday afternoon, Coughlan told the Echo: "Yannick was a real live-wire. He won the penalty and is an exciting talent. But it's up to the manager if we sign him."
That sounds an improvement on 'unlikely', and with Chris Phillips tweeting 'been told that Boli's wage demands are quite high at the moment', could we afford him anyway?
