Cobblers top scorer looks set not to start against Shrimpers

Akinfenwa: We're miss him if he doesn't start, not!
An old nemisis of the Shrimpers, Cobblers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, a Blues boss Paul Sturrock target at the start of his reign last year but we couldn't afford his wages, that's before we became rich again and Luggy started signing anybody he wanted.
It was Ade that begun the turn around at Roots Hall back on Saturday, September 3rd, when 2-0 down they grabbed a point in a 2-2 draw.
Former Northampton boss Gary Johnson believed at the time it was the start of a turnaround, it wasn't, he's now back at Yeovil, so he got promotion after all!
However, present manager Aidy Boothroyd is not so convinced of the West Ham born boy who has grabbed eight goals in League Two since his summer return to Sixfields from Gillingham.
But Akinfenwa has been relegated to the substitutes' bench for the last three games and failed to make an appearance in Saturday's 2-1 victory at Morecambe, the ex-head farmers first in charge of the Cobblers.
Boothroyd said: "I've had a long chat with Bayo and he's a great bloke, he has the right character and I like him. But I just think the team has been doing really well and he's been unfortunate. He's got an incredible goalscoring record and he isn't going to want to sit on the bench at a team that is floating around the lower regions of the league and I totally understand that. The boys are doing really well and they're working hard for each other. He accepts that and he'll just want the chance to get himself back in the team. I don't think he needs to prove himself, he's done plenty in his career so far."
Yes, a few times against us! If one up with 20 minutes left get very nervous if the big man starts getting warmed up, have to make sure we're three up then!
