Joe Johnson in his Middlesbrough days

Cobblers right back turned goal scorer, and it was a cracker (though were was the Blues defender?), Joe Johnson, felt that his opening goal in the drawn match at Roots Hall Saturday should have been the winner, as he believed there had been a naughty Shrimper that allowed Barry Corr a free run to head home his 15th of the season.

Looked as good as Johnson's to be honest, if not better, but all to their own, and seeing as half his midfield could have been sent on for their consistant fouling on Anthony Grant and Ryan Hall, referee Russell Booth did not have a great game to be honest, JJ should go back to Northampton positive about the point, their sixth in a row, equalling a club record.

Johnson told www.northamptonchron.co.uk: "There isn't any negativity in the dressing room because we feel this is a good point at a tough place to come. But we're frustrated because we've lost the lead again, and there was a block on one of our players for their goal. It was unfortunate that the referee never saw that because it gave their player (Corr) a free run to go and score the goal. It's frustrating because we dealt with all their other balls into the box really well and we'd been working hard on that aspect of our defending. A lot of us asked the referee about the block but he said he didn't see it and I suppose if he hasn't seen it then he can't give it but it's very frustrating."

Please play spot the foul while you look at the Beeb highlights.

Maybe Joe you should look closer to home on why you mucked up the chance of a win over a team that was running on empty towards the end?
