Steven Clark - wont be playing in a Hammers shirt again
Steven Clark originally arrived on the Coast in November on a months loan from the East London Club, but having impressed on his debut, the home defeat to Plymouth Argyle, Clark picked up a knee injury which kept the tricky winger sidelined for over a month.

Clark's loan was extended into a second month by Hammers boss Glenn Roeder and the 19-year old from Bow played a vital part in United's sensational second half fightback against Rushden & Diamonds on Boxing Day, having replaced Rob Newman as a substitute shortly before half time. Three days later Clark's magnificenr run and cross set-up Carl Hutchings for Blues goal against Luton Town at Roots Hall, United however eventually lost that match.

Clark, naturally a right sided attacking midfielder has impressed Blues supporters with his electric pace and the apparent ease with which he 'drifts' past his opponents. The fee at the moment is £12,000 but could rise to £50,000 on appearances, the Premiership Club, with whom Clark never managed an appearance, will also take a cut of any future transfer fee.

We at The Little Gazette would like to wish Steven Clark all the very best at Southend United.
