Burton Albion v Southend United - PITCH INSPECTION

Last updated : 09 December 2010 By exiledessexboy

The delightfully named Pirelii Stadium will host a pitch inspection Friday

Hold the previews and pub crawl planning just yet, it might be a touch warmer down south but the weather is still pretty bad north of Watford, I wouldn't fancy Carlisle away this weekend, and Burton club officials are as concerned as anybody.

Because of the the weather conditions in that that part of the world a pitch inspection has been called for Friday, December 10th at 12.30.

www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk warns: "The inspection is part of an ongoing monitoring of the pitch and will not necessarily give us a definitive answer as to whether Saturday's match against Southend will go ahead. Should there be any opportunity/chance to play this match, following the initial inspection, then a further inspection will be booked Saturday morning."

It's pretty cold at the moment but the forecast is OK, with 5 and 6 c's hoped for over the next 48 hours, but if the pitch is frozen it might not be enough.

After a couple of weeks without a game Blues boss Paul Sturrock and the team will be keeping everything crossed that we all see some League Two footy in the brewery town at the weekend.
