Burton Albion v Southend United - MATCH CONFIRMED ON

Last updated : 11 December 2010 By exiledessexboy

The delightfully named Pirelii Stadium will host a match this afternoon

It's now 100%, the Brewers official website has confirmed that a game between Burton Albion and Southend United will take place Saturday afternoon, kick-off 15.00 as the pitch was deemed playable by the match referee.

Hurrah! It would have been a waste of a fine drinking town if the game has have been played on a Tuedsay night in January!

www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk, and that goes for all Shrimpers as well, would like to thank their groundsman Simon Marshall, Groundsman of the year no less, but I'm not sure who gave him that award, is there a Football Groundsman Association?

Anyway, they wrote that Simon had 'worked through the night to ensure the game would go ahead. The club would also like to thank all the volunteers who have given their efforts to clearing the pitch of snow this week.'

Enjoy, all making the trip, full report and player markings soon after the final whistle.

However, to make sure you stay in good cheer, enjoy the weekend now, because after that it all goes down hill again next week!

There's a possibilty of Cheltenham being called off once more and with snow, ice and all sorts of horrible stuff forecast in the south next Saturday, the Wycombe home match must be placed in some doubt.
