Brush: 'We need to start playing better than we are at the moment'

Brushy spoke the official site: "We haven't been as creative as we need to be, especially in midfield. We need to make more chances because we only made two or three against Brentford which isn't enough. We need to start playing better than we are at the moment and be constructive not destructive if we are to get back to winning ways."

Brush also knows the Stockport manager Gary Ablett after they met studying for their UEFA Pro Licence and appreciates what a tough task it will be to come away with the points.

He continued: "Teams always seem to be in form when they play us and Stockport are no different. I know Gary well and they will be difficult to beat. They have two big centre backs, a speedy striker and then an in-form goalscorer in Carl Baker so it will be a real test and we have to use the ball better than we have been. This season is all about scrapping for us and we need to make sure we take points from the sides in and around us who are below the top seven who have the big squads and big budgets."

Ablett: 'We've just got to find the consistency'

Meanwhile, Hatters boss Ablett is making sure his players get over the disappointment of losing a two goal lead in the 2-2 draw with Hartlepool last Tuesday.

Ablett told the Manchester Evening News: "The onus will be on us to come forward. We've just got to try to find the consistency we found in the first half against Hartlepool and carry it on. We've tried to get the players in the right shape physically and mentally so that they're right approaching the game. And before the kick-off we'll be looking to see if we need to tweak anything and then we hope to come out fighting."
