Kirk Hudson: Possibily close to becoming another loanee Shrimper
Brentford winger Kirk Hudson has been training with the Shrimpers this week and according to a report on www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk could be joining the Essex boys in time for Crewe away on Saturday if Blues boss Paul Sturrock likes what he sees.
He could certainly visit the home of his birth as it was up the road from Roots Hall in Rochford!
Formerly with the Shots, what is it with Luggy and Aldershot wideboys after the error that was Louie Soares, Hudson has not had the best of times at Griffin Park, making just three substitute appearances since signing for the League One club last year.
He's already been loaned out once, to AFC Wimbledon as they marched to promotion from the Blue Square Conference during the latter stages of the last campaign, he scored one goal after turning out 14 times for the Dons before he returned to Brentford with a hip problem.
An injury that in the summer seemed would keep him out for a while had Bees boss Uwe Rosler telling the local media at the time:"He has a hip injury and won't be available for several months."
However, an earlier than expected recovery has allowed him to train with Southend until Thursday when we hope Karl is more Ryan Hall than the unfortunate Jemal Johnson, who has had a torrid time since he signed from Lokomotiv Sofia in July and was evn on the bench for the reserves last week.
A loan move for JJ himself would seem to be a decent bet in the next January transfer window to free up the wages for any new signing, though in typical Luggy style he was named on the subs bench this evening against the Daggers in the JPT, unless, that is, striker Harry Crawford leaves first.
