Both bosses believe they should have won, Tilly actually did; Barnard misses Millwall

Speaking to Blues World after the game Tilly said: "It was a good win for us against what I think is a very strong Scunthorpe side. They have been at the top all year, so to beat them like we did was fantastic. The first goal for Theo settled us down and then Barney has done well for McCormack to take his goal with a good finish in the corner."

He went on to praise his team but especially TLG man of the match Steve Mildenhall: "I thought we played well, especially in the second half when we kept the ball better, and I couldn't have asked for much more from the lads. Steve Mildenhall has done well for us and certainly earned his money this week. He made some good saves and played a big part in what was a very good win. We looked nice and solid again and I was really pleased. Before that the game had 0-0 written all over it, but we played well in the second half and deserved it in the end."

The bad news other than Francis Laurent limping off, no news on how bad the injury is yet, was that Lee Barnard picked up his fifth booking of the season when not retreating fast enough from a Scunny free kick, (Mr. Hill, another cracking performance form this particular ref), so willl miss the Millwall match next Tuesday. Hopefully Dougie Freedman will be fit by then.

On the other hand Iron boss Nigel Adkins had this to say: "Things aren't going our way at the moment and we've got to get everyone back up again. We're just not getting the rub of the green. We have to keep working hard - you get out what you put in. We will keep preparing right and ratify our mistakes as best we can. We've had enough chances to win. We were bright and did well against a big physical side(!)"

He went on: "In the second half, we had some great opportunities and, for me, against the run of play they scored their first goal. We'll have to look at it, but the defending was disappointing from our point of view. That changed the way the game was going but we had even more chances - we could have scored but we came away without scoring(!!) On the break, they got a goal late on which wrapped it up."
