Uncle Ron said we wouldn't wait until the last minute this season and it looks as if he was true to his word.

Blues boss Steve Tilson is on record as wanting to sign Theo permanently and the Watford Observer have reported that we've made a firm offer to the Hertfordshire based club.

The fee is undisclosed but the paper understands the 20 year old forward would command a fee in excess of £100,000.

Robinson has only made one start in the Carling Cup and five substitute appearances in the league for the Hornets since joining the club in 2005.

However, he impressed when first loaned out to Hereford in 2007/08, where he grabbed sixteen goals, then last season showed he could step up a league with Southend, scoring seven goals in 21 appearances, all seven goals scored where the Blues went on to win.

These performances have obviously attracted the attention of a number of clubs, but only Swindon Town were reported by the Echo to be on the verge of making a serious offer to Watford, which was denied by both clubs.

If the player does his make the move to South East Essex his pace and work rate, as well as his abilty to find the back of the net, will be a very welcome addition to a set of strikers that proved to be injury prone throughout the season.
