Blues Board Go On Alone

Like a bad spagehtti western the Shrimpers board will face the High Court Wednesday without making a last minute deal with the local consortium that had offered to buy the club for a quid!

In all honesty it was never going to happen at this late stage, and the League was pretty strong with a Southampton take over bid that they would have to still accept relagation and any further punishment.

So we'll all wait and see what Uncle Ron is going to do and if he'll save us from administration, a ten point penalty, and dropping to third bottom of League One, as well as what might happen to Tilly, Brush and some senior players.

He said it would go to the wire, well he wasn't wrong there!

The club statement said:

On Monday morning, the board received an offer through a local solicitor on behalf of a number of unnamed investors. After an exchange of correspondence it became clear that such a transaction could not be structured in the time available. In any event, our information is that the proposed structure would still result in a 10-point deduction.

The board's advice to its major shareholder was that the resources of the Club continue to be focused 100 per cent on the other alternatives already being pursued. After an exchange of correspondence it became clear that such a transaction could not be structured in the time available.
