Mohsni: 'We want to get in the play-offs'

The song may say he doesn't speak English, but it may have to be updated as fans favourite Bilel Mohsni speaks it very well indeed, and has given an interview to say how much he lovesplaying for the club, and any rumours of being unhappy that the potential move to Blackpool was turned down were unfounded.

Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I spoke to the chairman about the bid that was made and I told him that I wanted to stay at Southend. The fans love me here and I enjoy it. The club are going for the play-offs too and I understand that even losing one player from the team could harm those chances. Playing more games will also help me develop and if I keep on doing well then maybe I could move on in the summer or some time after that. It's good that a Premier League club wanted to sign me but I am still very happy to be with Southend."

Good to hear, and we're all see what happens come the end of the season, but for now the top seven is a prority and if victory against the promotion chasing Shrews does not actually put us in there, we'll be bloody close!

Bilel conclused: "It was a good win against Oxford because they are a very good team and we want to keep on going now. We want to get in the play-offs and get another good result tomorrow. But Shrewsbury are also high up in the league so we know it will be hard to win against them."
