Captain Adam: 'These games are normally quite feisty and entertaining'

Shrimpers central defender, captain, and all round local hero, was hurt by another away defeat at Exeter last weekend and wants to get back to winnning ways as soon as possible, starting with our Essex rivals in the 13.00 kick-off on Saturday, December 26th.

Barrett spoke to the Echo: "For me it doesn't get any better than playing Colchester at home on Boxing Day and we want to win this one for the fans. As a Southend lad, I know how much this game means to people and these games are normally quite feisty and entertaining, we really want to come out and take all three points."
