Barney: 'Leeds are a very good team'

On the back of his first ever hat-trick last week which secured the Shrimpers their first league win of the season against Leyton Orient, striker Lee Barnard knows his side face a far tougher task against the unbeaten and eight wins on the trot West Yorkshire club.

The good Lord made his full debut against Leeds in January 2008, in fact scoring the winning goal in what was to be the first of two successive 1-0 wins at Roots Hall.

Barney told www.southendunited.co.uk: "It will be hard because Leeds are a very good team who will again be right up there challenging for promotion. But as footballers you want to test yourself against the best and that's what we will be doing tonight. We have been playing well and will be giving it everything we have to beat them."
