Another Twist On The Freddy Story

Freddy Eastwood
Eastwood celebrates after confirming Southend's promotion to League One (Div 2)
Whilst this seems to be just a glorified version of what was in the Southend Evening Echo this evening there is now a concrete worry in most Southend fans’ mind. Comparisons between Freddy Eastwood and Stan Collymore have already been made at Southend however it would be worrying if Eastwood followed Collymore’s footsteps of moving from Southend to Nottingham Forest.

However Eastwood will not command as higher price as Collymore who moved to Forest for £2,000,000. It looks like the Baslidon based striker is valued at £750,000, reports the Nottingham Evening Post rather than the £500,000 bid that was apparently tabled according to the Southend Evening Echo.

Whatever the bid, it still remains clear that Eastwood does not really want to leave his local club. ‘I love it here and I would be very happy to stay,’ commented the twenty one year old.

However it does remain a fear for those associated with Southend United that these rumours are cropping up and that Eastwood has suggested he may ‘have to go.’
