1. How do you think you will do this season and what is your sqaud like?

(Original answer) I'm surprised to see we're struggling almost as badly as last year, with what, as I said previously, seems to be a stronger squad on paper.

Certainly the squad is better than last season except for up front, (although Vincent Pericard may change that), new keeper is good and strong in midfield.

As you say Wembley is on the fans' minds, and seems also to be affecting players, we're still very frustrating and still lightweight up front. We obviously lost Pericard, but have Jason Price and Daryl Duffy now.

Still too close to the drop zone for comfort but I expect a mid table finish, with the squad we've got we should be almost safe by now. Squad is now, (with the recent addition of Price), stronger in all areas than last season, but it's taken too long to get there. Centre half is top scorer, that says it all.

2. Which youngster will make the biggest impression in your team this season?

(OA) Tom Taiwo, (on loan from Chelsea), is superb.

Taiwo is now full time, and we've got Clayton from Man City who looks very good at this level.

3. What's your manager like and will he still be there at the end of the season?

(OA)
Greg Abbott, is shocking, and if he's still with us at the end of the season we'll be relegated
.

Abbott is still shocking, and will be with us next season as he's signed a new contract. Most fans would as soon see the back of the man, as he's seen as clueless and not learning from past mistakes.

4. Are you happy with your chairman/backroom staff?

(OA) They are trying their best, but we've very little spare cash, although what little we do have is being given to the manager. So they're not too bad, but must remove the manager.

Still reasonably satisfied with their performance.

5. Predict your champions and runners-up, the four play-off teams and the four to go down

(OA) Champions: Leeds, Runners up: Charlton.

Play-offs: Norwich, MK Dons, Huddersfield, Colchester.

Relegation: Wycombe, Tranmere, Exeter and Stockport.

I think Norwich will win it now mate, with Leeds in second - that drops Charlton into the play offs.

My bottom 4 remain the same, although your lot must buck their ideas up to escape from that. (Won't argue with that Joe!)

6. Southend's financial troubles are national news. Any comments about the club and where you see the football League heading.

Yeah your problem is national headline news along with Cardiff and Portsmouth (not to mention Chester).

I think the Inland Revenue are looking to make a high profile example at some stage and get the rules on creditors changed, and I don't think Chester will cover it for them.

The Southend problem is one of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as I'm sure there'll be clubs finding massive difficulties all round the country.

I guess a lot will be able to get through the season, and will struggle in the summer. Personally I can see one or 2 going to the wall before next season starts.
