Franck Moussa; a new deal for the ex-Shrimper at Leicester
Leicester City's former Shrimper Franck Moussa has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until June 2013.
The 21-year-old Belgium youth international is currently on loan at Championship rivals Doncaster Rovers but the extension to his deal secures his place in the future plans of boss. the former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Erickson told www.lcfc.com: "We spoke this week and I am delighted that Franck has agreed to extend his contract with us. He is a talented, young player with a bright future in the game ahead of him. Franck is a good all-round player and has the quality of being versatile. He is also doing well on loan at Doncaster, which is good news for his development."
The ex-Southend midfielder was promoted through the under-18 ranks and joined City from the Essex club in August 2010 during the mass exit.
Franck has made 12 appearances and scored one goal for Leicester before beginning his loan spell at Doncaster in February.
At the Keepmoat Stadium he's scored once in nine appearances for Rovers and the loan spell is due to end on April 16th.
Franck himself told the Fox's official site: "I'm extremely happy and looking forward to what the future holds for me. Playing regularly was the main idea of me going out on loan and things have worked out just fine over the last two months. My fitness is up, my confidence is up, I've put in some good performances and I'm happy to see that recognised by the manager at Leicester."
Great stuff for the former SUFC Exiled sponsored player and proof of what a gem we had.
If things had turned out differently at Roots Hall, he could still be ours, sob, sob.
Anyway, the Moose concluded: "It's a great club to be at right now and I'm delighted I'll be part of things for even longer. Hopefully when I come back from Doncaster it will be with more experience and more to offer."
To that we at S24 have no doubt.
