He's Alive! Former Shrimpers striker ends up a Poppie

Paul Furlong: Still hanging around, but now in the Conference

41-year-old centre forward Paul Furlong was released by League Two rivals Barnet at the end of last season but he's already made his debut for new club Kettering Town, his 12th, (we think), in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly against MK Dons.

Just look at that CV, including Chelsea, Watford, Birmingham, QPR, the mighty Shrimpers, (where he looked slow when starting against Peterborough two years ago, only ending up playing 3 league games), and even six England semi-pro caps from his time with first club Enfield!

Poppies boss Lee Harper had been looking for a big bloke up front, and will be happy that as well as a guy who still knows how to find the back of the net, he's got someone with so much experience to pass on to the younger members of his team.
