Carling Cup: Competition draw on Thursday

Carling Cup 1st Round: The Shrimpers play Orient, much bigger game

The Sky cameras will be at Elland Road on Tuesday August 9th to see Championship Leeds United take on their League Two West Yorkshire neighbours Bradford City.

This will be the first time the two teams have faced each other since a Johnstone`s Paint Trophy clash threee years ago in 2008.

This will mean we have the pleasure down South of watching the Whites first two games of the new campaign live on Sky as the second tier match against Southampton on the opening day of 2011/12, Lee Barnard hopefully free to play, is also on the Sky Sports schedule.

Live competitive footy outside the usual pre-season tournaments, sadly the Shrimpers Scottish tour has not been signed up, will kick-off with the Manchester derby for the Community Shield on Sunday, August 7th.

Rubert Murdoch's boys, you will not be surprised to hear, will also be showing both the England Autumn internationals on the road in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Friday, September 2nd is the first against Bulgaria, followed by the top two group G shoot-out with Montenegro on Friday, October 7th.
