It was Sydney January 2 2007, the England cricket team were getting hammered a few miles away, Southend had won only their third game of that ill-fated season the day before and I was half way across the world, it was even bloody pissing down outside, in Oz, in their frigging summer!
So why am I looking so pleased with myself? Well it was my birthday, we'd found a Bavarian Beerhouse and look what was lined up in front of me! (It had been raining for quite a while before this was taken!)
