The last time we were here, the pitch was frozen, and before that a fusebox caught alight and two of the floodlights went out, which is why we return to Whaddon Road hoping it will be third time lucky.
However, the last time we completed 90 minutes was August 2009 and a Lee Barnard double, which saw us into the second round of the Carling Cup.
It's just a shame it's once again a non-Saturday fixture (for the fourth game running, or sixth, if you count the couple of call-offs!), there's many a crawl I could put on offer here!
Keep tabs on the Cheltenham forecast here, but it looks OK this time:
Club Bar
There is a club bar at the ground called the Robins Nest which allows in small numbers of away fans for a small admittance fee.
In Town
If you do get to Cheltenham early enough there are two of the better Weatherspoons and both in one town! Both are large and usually employ more than two bar staff!
At around £1.89 a pint of something very good it's worth a visit with under a 20 minute walk to the ground to follow with either of them.
The Moon Under Water is at the top of the high street at
The brand new, well since our last visit, The Bank House, is at 15-21 Clarence Street, GL50 3JL.
As it's Tuesday it will even be Steak day with plenty of cheap meat on offer from 15.00 with a bottle of Hardy's red to match for the ladies!
Moon Under Water: Bottom right, end of the arrow; The Bank House: Top left at the bottom, Clarence Street.
You may get the Bishops Tipple but probably not the Blues singer
Give yourself enough time to visit the Cotswold in Portland Street, GL52 2NZ.
A cosy little Wadworth pub, they had 6X, Henrys IPA, Horizon and the wonderful Bishops Tipple on offer, while I was drinking a pint of diet coke. Never again!
I did catch a wonderful Blues singer once putting out some cracking tunes, but as that was a Friday night in March and this is a Tuesday night in November it just might be me and the Bishop.
The Cotswold: Right square, at the end of the arrow on the way to the ground further right.
Nearer the Stadium
Kemble Brewery Inn: 27, Fairview Street, GL52 2JF.
Small single room pub with an open fire, hard to find but worth it when you do. You might not know some of the ales on show but always worth drinking. A limited but very good menu. A gem.
The Sudeley Arms: 25, Prestbury Road, GL52 2PN.
Along the Prestbury Road towards town from the stadium and less than ten minutes walk from the ground. A drinkers pub with Goff's Jouster the house beer, a range of good and ever changing real ales, excellent cider, and even a perry.
There is a Fish & Chip shop adjacent which is very popular with home and away fans, huge portions and good value for money.
Stadium: Whaddon Road to the right; Kemble Brewery Inn: Far right of left square, last street on map is Fairview Street; The Sudeley Arms: Middle of left square.
The Fox and Hounds: 116, Prestbury Road, GL52 2DP.
Real home pub, close to the ground, but have drunk their in the past without a problem, good choice of keg beer.
Fox & Hounds: Top of left square on Prestnury Road, Whaddon Road at the bottom.
As Bilel Moshni might say, 'apprécier'.
